Commodity Buyer

Job description

As Commodity Buyer, you are responsible for the successful execution of our procurement processes.

You lead the bid, tender and supplier selection process, and you are responsible for the implementation of contracts and framework agreements. To reach the best contractual conditions you negotiate with suppliers and internal stakeholders in order to provide a maximized QLTC (quality, logistics, technology and cost) result. In addition you actively, in cooperation with the operational buyer, follow-up on outstanding orders and RFQ's to secure a timely delivery of goods, services and offers.

For the short/mid-term you investigate if our QLTC needs are still aligned with our supply base and in case of misalignment you take action accordingly. You lead supplier evaluations, manage the supplier relationship and define actions to develop (strategic) suppliers. In addition, you establish, implement and monitor the commodity strategy and where needed make adjustments in the supply chain and/or our internal processes in accordance with the Product Family Manager.

What it takes

You, preferably, have a procurement background in the high-tech Metal and/or Mechanical industry with at least 3 years of relevant work experience. A strong but open personality and a persuasive communication style is key. You are a real problem solver, who keeps track on the long-term goals even under the sometimes high day to day pressure for the short term needs. You are a multi-tasker that keeps a clear overview while working on several projects at once. To secure the future success of Airbus DS you have a strong focus on Total Cost of Ownership, a commercially driven mindset with a natural focus on continuous improvement.
