Job description

Your main focus is the development and implementation of (new) production processes. Key drivers are reduction of manufacturing costs (early in the supply chain), optimization of the assembly flow and logistics, while maintaining the high quality that is standard in Space. In this position, you are the linking pin for projects, interacting with Engineering, Procurement, AIT and suppliers.

The production of parts is mostly outsourced, but the assembly and integration of the various projects takes place in-house. You are responsible for improving process flows, for example by using smart tool solutions (such as molds, mechanical ground support equipment). Especially, to simplify production of parts and the assembly, by improving the way products are handled during the production process. For example, through smart automation of administrative processes (e.g. PLM). Further, robotization, KanBan, MRP and DBR are also within your scope.

You know everything about materials such as aluminium, stainless steel, titanium and composites, with operations such as milling, turning and connection techniques such as riveting, gluing, bolt / nut connections and ultrasonic welding.

In short, you are a strong communicator and team player, able to challenge Engineering for a commercial design and develop our suppliers and AIT to work efficient and effective in a high tech environment.

What it takes
You have completed relevant technical education at Bachelor or Master level. You bring hands-on experience with the development of production processes and systems (minimum of 3 years), and with connection- and machining techniques and materials. You are familiar with robotization, logistics (handling) processes, process management (by means of process flow, PFMEA, control plan). You are used to work on project basis and you have experience with Lean and 5S. You master the English language in speech and writing.

You recognize yourself in the following competences:

  • Strong communicator
  • Team player
